We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, subscribe to our service, or communicate with us.
- Account Info: Email address and password (stored securely via Supabase).
- Usage Data: YouTube video IDs you ingest, transcripts, and chat history.
- Payment Info: Processed directly by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the IngestAI service.
- Process transactions and manage your subscription.
- Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
- Process video content via AI providers (Google Gemini) to generate summaries and answers.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with third-party vendors necessary to provide the service:
- Supabase: For authentication and database hosting.
- Stripe: For payment processing.
- Google (Gemini API): For AI processing of text. Data sent to the AI API is subject to Google's data processing terms but is not used to train their models.
4. Data Retention
We store your chat history and ingested video data to provide the "Context Retention" feature. You may delete this data at any time through the application interface.
5. Security
We take reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.
6. Chrome Extension Permissions
Our extension requires specific permissions to function:
- activeTab: To read the URL of the current YouTube video you are watching.
- scripting: To extract the video ID and interact with the page DOM to retrieve captions.
We do not track your browsing history outside of the YouTube domain.
